WHO IS DSS?

Discovery Science Schools (DSS) develops, operates, and provides services to successful K-12 charter schools across multiple counties in Florida. One of the founders, Dr. Akin, has been involved in the Florida Charter School movement for more than 20 years and has led the development of several charter schools in Florida. Since 2008, the founders of DSS have been at the forefront of one of Central Florida’s most successful STEM-focused charter school systems, with all schools in the system receiving “High-Performing Charter School” and “School of Excellence” designations from the Florida Department of Education.
